The Lava Show - 2009

 

 Coming in from east side,
Route 130 south of Hilo.

Road ends,
crude road to parking lot.

 

 Now it's on foot.

 

 Gathering at dusk to watch the show.

 

 Lava flowing into the ocean.

 

 Constant orange flashes.

 

 Surrounding water hot enough
to boil food.

 

 Gets more intense as it gets darker

 

 Brilliant orange flashes.

 

 Getting darker.
Need flashlight to return to car.

Hillside above glowing in little spots.
