FREE!NEW Courier Journal e-Edition

The Courier-Journal Newspaper in Education and the Kentucky Council on Economic Education are partnering to provide a new, exciting resource for teachers using the Stock Market Game or Take Stock in Kentucky program. The newspaper has always been an invaluable resource for teachers to use in the classroom with their Stock Market Game classes.

Now, NIE is providing a way for students to follow stock data and read about business and economic news through a new product called The E-edition. The E-edition is an exact replica of The Courier-Journal, which is accessible electronically. Each student and teacher who has access to a computer will be given a license with a username and password. The E-edition is provided to schools at no cost.

There will be several links from the E-edition homepage to websites for stock research, lessons and activity sheets, and a direct link to the Stock Market Game simulation.  The E-edition is interactive and an interesting way for students to stay abreast of what’s happening around them, locally, nationally, and globally. One feature that teachers are finding very valuable is the SEARCH function. Students insert key words, and related articles will appear in a matter of seconds.
