An MSNBC report claims that Ali Hasan al-Majid, the infamous "Chemical Ali", has been killed in an attack on his house in Basra.
I have to agree with the commentors over at the Command Post, however. This is, I think, the third time that "Chemical Ali" has been reported dead (assuming that I haven't missed any claims). Either the man has more lives than a cat, or there's been a lot of spin (not necessarily due to carelessness or wishful thinking) on this.
When I see a body, or better yet, a head on a pike, I'll believe. Until then, I'll merely hope.
(UPDATE: Looks like the Brits really did nail him. No loss, although it would have been nice to have him as the guest of honor at a crimes-against-humanity trial. I wonder if his last words were "Purimfest 2003!")
