The O'Brien Brewing Company Story

The history of beer has been traced to ancient writings before the time of Christ. The first beer may well have been brewed by chance. Barley being kept outside in a basin, was likely rained upon and left unattended. When a wild strain of yeast found its way into the basin, the hot Middle Eastern sun caused the yeast to ferment the mixture and beer was born.

During the Dark Ages, as monks and abbeyists in Europe were preserving our history, they were also preserving the art of making this beverage of moderation to sustain themselves during periods of fasting.

The O'Brien Brewing Company is dedicated to keeping this tradition alive. Our handcrafted beers, using only the finest quality water, barley, yeast and hops, are brewed with the same attentive skills passed down through the ages. Our mission, as well, is to continue a tradition of service to the community through donating 10 percent of our profit to charitable organizations.
